While playing Risk, Saddam Hussein hoarded all his troops in Australia

Here is an expose on the tactics U.S. intelligence used in their attempts to break Saddam Hussein and locate the WMDs. It comes from http://www.independent.co.uk/, which appears to be a regular Brit newspaper--probably skewing to the left.

There's mostly real news, but some funny stuff like this too.

Yeah, the independent is a left-leaning paper. The interesting thing about papers in western Europe, though, is that no one expects them to be unbiased. You just find the paper that lines up most closely with your ideology, and that's the one you read the most.

It sounds stupid, like you would only hear the things you want to hear, but I think it's pretty refreshing. For one, there aren't over arguments over the position of the paper. If someone says to the independent, "You're too liberal!" or "This is a labor paper!" they're like, "So?" No mysteries. Besides, most European folk actually absorb *multiple* news sources, so they can contrast them and make their own opinions.

Funny article, though.
